CARF-CCAC Field Review of Aging Services

CARF-CCAC is conducting a broad field review of proposed new and revised standards that will be included in future standards manuals for continuing care retirement communities (CCRC's) and similar organizations. Using the field review process, the accrediting body seeks feedback on the standards from the persons served, providers, payers, regulators, and other stakeholders.

The proposed standards cover general business practices as well as program-specific standards for CCRCs and aging services networks. Individuals wishing to comment on the proposed standards may request a field review by calling Sue Matthiesen at (202) 508-9475 or by sending an e-mail to smattiesen@carf.org. Requesters should specify whether they wish to receive the field review electronically as a Microsoft Word attachment or by mail as a hard copy. If requested by e-mail, the field review may be completed on the user's computer and returned as an e-mail attachment. Returned field reviews are due by March 15, 2004.

ATRA respondents may contact Joanne Finegan, ATRA's Liaison to CARF with any questions regarding the standards. She can be reached at either (610) 834-1300 or finegan@remed.com.

Thanks for sharing this important information.
