GCTRA-Gold Coast

The Gold Coast Therapeutic Recreation Association has had a year of great accomplishments. Starting with increasing membership, two-fold, while providing exclusive membership services. GCTRA newsletter - Phoenix Rising - also underwent evolution and is now being sent out more often as well as bi-monthly bulletins emphasizing upcoming highlighted events. We also made a trial run with sending the newsletter via e-mail and will be continuing with this form of communication. The website was started and should be done by the end of this year. GCTRA also provided a variety of CEU opportunities including our annual conference "Spring Fling" where we had GT Thompson present on Legislation and Public Policy. The Board of Directors and committee positions are all occupied by enthusiastic professionals dedicated to the RT profession. We hope to continue providing quality membership services and educational opportunities to our members in this next year. The GCTRA 2001-2002 Board Of Directors was just elected and is as follows: Dayne Alonso, President; Lourdes Martinez, President-elect; Ariadne Polanco, Treasurer; Kelly Gomez, Secretary Congratulations to these individuals who will provide outstanding leadership to GCTRA.
