Chapter Summaries

Gold Coast:

Current chapter goals:
Increase funds toward membership to increase benefits
Increase involvement with facilities (Hospitals, SNF’s etc…) in tri-county area
Identify and contact state universities to better access TR students
Appoint a co-chair for membership
Launch a statewide CTRS outreach program
Continue to contribute to ATRF

Membership increased by 10 this year. Current membership 65
Chapter is working on a membership incentive program.

Marketing activities:
Contacted hospitals via e-mail outs to increase awareness of Gold Coast as a local organization promoting the field of TR. This resulted in increased membership and attendance to workshops.

Collaborated with Horticulture Therapy assoc to offer CEU’s . Informed this assoc on the difference between Activity Directors and RT. In terms of education, training, certification requirements etc…

Held a successful conference covering topics such as mental health, physical rehab, empowerment, and ethics.

Submitted a CAC grant application which has been referred to ATRF for consideration.
