NETRA

NETRA had a very successful conference on the 25th of October. There were about 80 attendees in all, with 15 or more students in attendance. Ann Huston was our guest speaker and she did a wonderful job motivating RT's to advance the profession through LTC planning and advocating on the state level for the recognition of TR. Many of our evaluations stated the members want her back, and NETRA will definitely be asking again! I highly recommend that other chapters take advantage of the ATRA BOD as guest speakers. It is a great draw to a conference for the chapter. Having an ATRA BOD member also helps the chapter members feel a closer connection to the national organization that they support especially when they are unable to take advantage of the conferences.

A spontaneous suggestion at our membership meeting at the NETRA fall conference, sparked by our Treasurer Claire Donaldson, raised money for the ATRA Advocacy fund. All Claire mentioned was passing a basket around so that people could make a donation in any denomination. In 5 minutes $100 was collected! This might be a great idea for other chapters to consider in order to raise money for ATRA. Every dollar counts! NETRA will have some kind of collection at our conferences just for this purpose from here on out.
