Multipurpose Manager

Duties: Manages staff, volunteers, programs, and a 15,000 square foot facility on a 6-acre park site. Markets and promotes to the community the recreational opportunities for persons with mental and/or physical handicaps provided by the City of Pasadena. Speaks to community groups to promote the Multipurpose Recreation Center. Speaks at schools to promote disability awareness. Prepares and manages an annual budget. Purchases necessary equipment and supplies. Solicits grants and promotes capital improvements. Supervises and trains volunteers. Oversees staff planning and implementation of recreational activities. Manages five direct subordinate staff and approximately 12 indirect seasonal or contract employees in the Multipurpose Recreation Center. Must have the ability to do clinical assessments of clients and make recommendations as to their placement in classes and programs.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; minimum of 5 years related experience and at least 2 years in a lead, supervisory or manager role or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist; and Therapeutic Recreation Specialist/Texas Certified; or eligibility to obtain certifications within one year of employment. First Aid & CPR certifications. CDL preferred and/or must be able to obtain within 12 months of hire. Understanding of therapeutic recreation strategies and interventions and trends. Ability to evaluate participants in crisis medically or behaviorally and safely manage the situation. Understanding of diagnostic information and implementation of medical procedures. Must be able to occasionally assist with participant/wheelchair transfer or to secure a child with a disability.
Target Hiring Range: $1,538.40 – 1,846.40 bi-weekly.

Administrative Coordinator, National Alliance for Accessible Golf

The Administrative Coordinator will provide national coordination for Alliance projects and Board of Directors’ activities. These currently include Project GAIN and the various Board of Directors’ approved committees. Other essential duties include scheduling and management of necessary meetings; providing support to Alliance committees; coordinate the flow of all types of communication about the Alliance; and initiating and assisting Board members in raising funds for the National Alliance for Accessible Golf.
