We seek an experienced psycho-social rehabilitation
professional, with knowledge of alcohol and substance
abuse treatment, for a part-time position at our Westchester
Division. This is a world-renowned behavioral health
facility featuring one of the most beautiful treatment
settings in the country.
In this role, you will provide vocational and functional
assessments, develop and lead groups and activities, and
supervise assigned staff. You will function as a member of
an interdisciplinary team, conducting in-services on unit
and in discipline.
Master's degree from an accredited educational institution
in occupational therapy, rehabilitation counseling,
recreational therapy or relevant human services field
required. Must be NYS Dept. of Education License eligible
with a minimum of two years' post-Master's experience, and
possess psycho-social rehab and supervisory experience.
Group development experience highly desirable. Basic Life
Support Certification required. This position is for 20
hours, 4 days per week.

Full-Time opportunity exists for a Certified Therapeutic
Recreational Specialist (CTRS) as a member of the Adult
Acute Brain Injury interdisciplinary team at Kernan
Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation. The job includes:
assessment, treatment, discharge planning and facilitation
of the BI Support Group monthly. Treatment services are
delivered: 1:1, co-treatment and group settings based on the
assessed needs of the individual. The hospital is JCAHO and
CARF accredited including specialty CARF accreditation for
BI. Unique treatment resources include w/c accessible
vehicle for community re-entry, Healing Garden, One-hole
practice green, therapy pool and the usual array of clinical
modalities.

acute care service for psychiatric population and diverse
ages preferred. Requires strong interpersonal skills &
ability to work independently. Strengths in recreational and
fitness activity planning for indoor/outdoor experiences,
interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and
patient progress documentation also required.

therapy, initiated in 1956 by the Departments of Pediatrics
and Psychiatry. In 1974, the Department of Recreational
Therapy was established to extend the service to other
patients within the institution. The Department of
Recreational Therapy provides services to patients in
pediatrics, psychiatry, the burn center, the rehabilitation
center, bone marrow transplants and acute care geriatrics.

RECREATION THERAPIST
Matheny Medical and Educational Center, provides people of
all ages who are developmentally disabled with the
confidence and self-awareness to live their lives in a
productive, meaningful way. We’re now seeking a Recreation
Therapist for our Peapack facility that will be responsible
for planning, monitoring and conducting recreational therapy
programs. While experience working with individuals that
possess developmental disabilities is a plus, it isn’t a
