Description of the Network: The Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Treatment Network is a specialty group with ATRA, designed to enhance the dissemination of information, which addresses clinical practice and modality issues as well as promoting education opportunities within areas of PM&R.

The CTRS who works in this setting can see patients/clients with a variety of Physical Disabilities including:
• Spinal Cord Injury
• Stroke
• Brain Injury
• Amputations
• Cardiac
• Orthopedic ( Arthritis, Fractures, Joint Replacement)
• Burns
• Oncology
• Neurological Disorders, including multiple sclerosis, motor neuron diseases, polyneuropathy, muscular dystrophy and Parkinsons disease
• Guillian Barre
• Pulmonary
• Congenital Deformity
• Major Multiple Trauma

Settings:
• Hospitals
• Extended Care Facilities
• Sub Acute
• Post Acute
• Day Programs

Functioning Areas Most Commonly Addressed:
• Social Interaction Skills
• Adaptive Functional Leisure Skills
• Self-confidence/Self-esteem
• Cognitive Functioning (attention, memory, decision making, problem solving skills and behavior management)
• Quality of Life Issues
• Pain Management

• Gross Motor skills
• Fine Motor Skills
• Endurance, Balance & Coordination
