CTRS ATRA ANNOUNCES NEW OFFICERS FOR 2003-2004 BOARD OF DIRECTORS ALEXANDRIA, VA. - The American Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA) officially welcomed Melinda Conway Callahan, CTRS, CFRE as the new President of the 2003-2004 ATRA Board of Directors. Callahan was inducted on September15th during the annual membership meeting at the Annual ATRA conference in Atlanta, Georgia. ATRA is the largest national professional association of recreation therapists. Callahan, a long time member of ATRA and Senior Partner of LMMC Consulting Fund Development, Public Relations and Marketing in Rochester Hills, MI describes her upcoming year, “ the theme of my presidency is "Growing to Greatness and Celebrating our Successes." For the past 20 years the American Therapeutic Recreation Association has had a major impact on the delivery of recreational therapy services throughout our country. ATRA is a leading voice on behalf of the profession in many areas: national legislation, fiscal mediators and insurance providers and regulatory agencies, like CARF and JCAHO" Also inducted were Nancy MacFarlane, CTRS of Portland, OR as President Elect, Diane Baumann, CTRS of Floyds Knob, IN as Treasurer, Becki Chilcote-McGrath, CTRS of Scottsdale, AZ and Sharon Ballard CTRS of Alexandria, VA of as members at large. They will be joining Jennifer Melitski, CTRS of Rhinebeck, NY currently serving as Secretary and Diane Wagner-Heffner, MA, CTRS of Ann Arbor, MI, Dana Dempsey, MS, CTRS of Dallas, TX and Mike Bellfy, CTRS of Williamsport, PA currently serving as members at large.
