Call for Proposals – 2005 Healthcare and Aging Awards

(Alexandria, VA) The American Society on Aging (ASA) is now accepting applications online for the 2005 Healthcare and Aging Awards, sponsored by the Pfizer Medical Humanities Initiative.

The annual Healthcare and Aging Awards recognize outstanding programs and services in healthcare and aging. In 2005, the awards will be given to organizations that have demonstrated high-quality, innovative programs that enhance the health-related quality of life in older adults.

For 2005, the call for submissions for the awards has been revised to
encourage all to apply, including those working on the frontlines.
Specifically, the criteria were changed to give greater weight to innovative programs, sustainability and exclude past winners. The new call also lists more explicit guidelines for writing a good proposal.

Proposals are due September 17, 2004. To apply and for more information about past awardees, visit the ASA healthcare and aging awards web page (http://www.asaging.org/awards/han.cfm). All applications must be submitted online.

Winners of the award receive $2500 cash, travel and accommodations at the ASA-NCOA Joint Conference, free conference registration, and free annual membership in ASA for the winners. Six organizations will be awarded for 2005.
